2. App Permissions & Data Access
To provide its core functionality, the app requires the following sensitive permissions. We only request permissions that are essential for the app's performance:
- All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): This is the core permission required for the app's primary purpose. It allows the app to perform a deep scan of your device storage to locate, categorize, and manage all document formats (PDF, Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) in a unified view. This is necessary to provide a seamless experience where users can find all their documents in one place without manual searching.
- Storage Access (READ/WRITE): Required on older Android versions to read, modify, and manage documents stored on your device.
- Camera Access: Used exclusively when you choose to use the "Scan to PDF" or "Image to Text (OCR)" features. Images captured are processed locally and are not stored or transmitted by us.
- Saved Signatures: If you use the PDF signing feature, your signatures are stored as encrypted strings in the app's private local storage. We do not collect, view, or upload these signatures.
- Internet Access: Used only for basic functions such as following external links (e.g., sharing the app or accessing this policy). No user or document data is ever transmitted via the internet.
3. Device Information
We may access non-personal technical data such as your device model and operating system version locally to ensure stable performance and correct document rendering. This data is processed in real-time on the device and is never linked to your identity or transmitted to our servers.
4. Data Security & Retention
We prioritize the security of your data. Since all document processing—including OCR and text extraction—happens locally on your device, your files are as secure as your device itself. We do not maintain any cloud storage or user accounts. All locally cached data (such as "Recent Files" or "Favorites") is permanently removed if you uninstall the app.
5. Third-Party Services
The app uses Google ML Kit for document scanning and text recognition. These services process data locally on your device and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We also use third-party libraries for document rendering, which operate entirely offline and do not collect user data.
6. Children's Privacy
Our app does not collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly target children, and because our app operates offline with no data collection, we do not store any information related to minors.
7. User Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
We respect your privacy rights. Since we do not collect any data on our servers, you have full control over your data directly within the app:
- Access and Portability: All your files remain on your device and can be accessed by you at any time.
